The Orioles look to rediscover their offense and snap an eight-game losing streak Tuesday night against the visiting Minnesota Twins.
Baltimore (6-9) started fast this season, winning four straight and six of its first seven games due mostly to a pitching staff that compiled a 2.00 ERA. The offense batted only .220 during that span but had enough big hits to average 4.8 runs per game.

Since rookie Zach Britton pitched eight superb innings April 9 in a 5-1 victory over Texas in the first game of a doubleheader, the Orioles haven't won and the offense has been very quiet.
Solo homers in the seventh inning from Adam Jones and Matt Wieters and another in the ninth by Luke Scott were all the Orioles could manage in a 5-3 loss to the Twins on Monday.
Baltimore is 2 for 20 with runners in scoring position over the last three contests.
The Orioles have totaled 20 runs during the eight-game skid, their longest since dropping 10 in a row May 26-June 5. Their No. 3 and 4 hitters -- offseason acquisitions Derrek Lee and Vladimir Guerrero -- have combined for two homers and six RBIs all season.
"We put ourselves in some situations to get a big hit and we didn't," Jones said. "... You just have got to come out tomorrow ready to swing the bats and bust this losing streak wide open."
Scoring runs has also been a problem for Minnesota (6-10), which ranks last in the majors with 50 but got a career-high three RBIs from Drew Butera in Monday's victory.
The Twins won their second straight after losing six of seven and improved to 6-1 in their last seven meetings with Baltimore.
Already missing star catcher Joe Mauer (leg weakness), Minnesota also played without first baseman Justin Morneau, who was experiencing flu-like symptoms.
"It's tough to replace a guy like Joe Mauer. His bat and his presence in the lineup is definitely second to none," Butera said. "It's tough to accomplish what he does offensively, so my job is not to lose anything defensively and to win. If we win, we'll be OK."
The Orioles could have difficulty getting their offense going against Carl Pavano (1-1, 3.60 ERA). Since struggling in his season debut, the right-hander has allowed one run and eight hits over 16 innings in his last two starts. He pitched four-hit ball through eight scoreless innings Thursday at Tampa Bay, but was denied the victory when Joe Nathan faltered in the ninth.
Pavano is 3-1 with a 2.33 ERA in his last four starts against Baltimore, including 1-1 with a 1.06 ERA in two last season.
Baltimore hopes Jake Arrieta (1-1, 7.04) can help end the team's slide. The right-hander was in line for his second win before the Orioles' bullpen melted down Thursday at Yankee Stadium, turning a 5-3 lead into a 6-5 loss in 10 innings.
Arrieta limited New York to three runs and five hits over six innings, a dramatic improvement over his previous start against Texas, which tagged him for eight runs in 3 1/3 innings of a 13-1 defeat.
Minnesota roughed up Arrieta for five runs and seven hits over four innings in a 10-4 win July 25 at Camden Yards.
Jason Kubel went 2 for 2 with a grand slam in that game for the Twins.
TwinsA struggling lineup is making it extremely difficult for the team to get moving in a positive direction.
