Boston (21-20) has won seven of nine, hitting .301 with 12 homers during that stretch.
The Red Sox collected 15 hits -- five for extra bases -- Monday, erasing a six-run deficit and capping their rally with Gonzalez's two-run double in the ninth to give Boston an 8-7 victory.
Gonzalez, who finished with three hits and three RBIs, is 15 for 36 with six homers and 15 RBIs in his last eight games. For the season, he's batting .327 with nine home runs and 37 RBIs -- all team highs.
He's 16 for 28 with 10 doubles and nine RBIs in his last seven games against the Orioles (19-21).
The Red Sox, seeking to match their season-high five-game winning streak from April 20-24, have won 19 of their last 24 home meetings with Baltimore.
They've batted .303 in those contests, but may have a tougher time Tuesday with Britton (5-2, 2.42) getting the ball for the Orioles.
The 23-year-old left-hander beat the Red Sox on April 26 at Camden Yards, yielding one run and five hits in six innings of a 4-1 victory while Gonzalez went 0 for 3 against him. A win Tuesday would move Britton into a tie for the major league lead with six.
He easily could have earned that win Thursday, when he limited Seattle to three hits without a walk in nine scoreless innings. However, the Orioles failed to score foe him for a second straight start. Baltimore eventually won 2-1 in 12 innings.
"My job was to keep us in the game as long as possible," Britton said.
That contest was a recent exception for the Orioles, who are batting .301 during a 5-2 stretch.
Vladimir Guerrero had three hits including two doubles in Monday's loss, and is 7 for 14 with five doubles and two RBIs over his last three games. He's batting .405 in his last 10 games against Boston.
It's unclear if Baltimore first baseman Derrek Lee will be available after he exited Monday's loss in the third inning with a strained left oblique. He has one hit in each of his last six games, with three doubles and five RBIs in that span.
Lee is 4 for 7 with two doubles and three walks versus probable Boston starter Tim Wakefield (0-1, 5.40), who is likely to enter the rotation after John Lackey landed on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right elbow Monday.
This will be Wakefield's third start of the season to go with nine relief appearances. The 44-year-old knuckleballer was hit hard in his last start, allowing eight runs, nine hits and four walks in 4 1/3 innings of a 9-2 loss to Minnesota on May 6.
He's 3-0 with a 4.43 ERA in his last eight games -- six starts -- versus Baltimore.
