Todd Helton has hit .190 (4 for 21) his last seven games, but .381 with two doubles and two homers versus Billingsley. The right-hander allowed five runs in three innings of a 7-5 loss at Coors on April 6 to fall to 2-5 with a 4.64 ERA in 10 starts against the Rockies.
Billingsley, however, is 1-1 with a 3.64 ERA in five starts against them at Dodger Stadium.
The Dodgers totaled eight runs while Billingsley went 0-3 with a 2.91 ERA in his previous five starts before a 5-4 victory Tuesday at Houston, where he won despite allowing four runs, three walks and striking out nine in six innings.
Los Angeles (24-30) had little trouble producing while recording a season-high 17 hits in Sunday's 8-0 win over Florida. Clayton Kershaw tossed a two-hitter while Rafael Furcal, Andre Ethier and Jay Gibbons each had three RBIs as the Dodgers took two of three from the Marlins to win their first series since May 10-13 at Pittsburgh.
"We're in a stretch here where we're gonna have to start putting some series together or we're gonna be at the point where we're in trouble, where we're not feeling as optimistic," manager Don Mattingly told the Dodgers' official website.
Furcal is batting .193 in 14 games this season, but is 5 for 9 the last two. After scuffling through a 2-for-31 stretch, Ethier was 6 for 10 against the Marlins. "I feel good, a lot of guys feel good, but right now we're just not on the same page," Hammel said. "We just can't get things to click when we need them to, so obviously it's very frustrating."
