Milwaukee (12-11) snapped a six-game skid to Cincinnati and evened the three-game set with 3-2 victory Tuesday. The win was the Brewers' fifth in 25 games against the Reds, putting Milwaukee in position to win two straight at home over Cincinnati for the first time since a three-game sweep from May 29-31, 2009.
Ryan Braun, Rickie Weeks and Prince Fielder homered as the Brewers improved to 1-4 against Cincinnati (12-12) this season.
"It's fantastic," Brewers closer John Axford said. "They were just one-run solo shots, but those were huge for us. When we have those guys are going through the lineup at any point, they can blow up a game."
Four of Braun's seven hits in 20 at-bats versus Cincinnati this season have been homers. He's batting .413 with five home runs and 13 RBIs during an 11-game hitting streak overall.

The right-hander is 2/3 with a 5.26 ERA in nine starts versus Cincinnati, but 0-2 with a 6.66 ERA in the last five. Gallardo allowed two runs in six innings, and was in position for the win until the bullpen gave up four runs in the ninth inning of a season-opening 7-6 loss at Cincinnati.
Gallardo yielded four runs in six innings of a 14-7 win over Houston on Friday, but has given up at least four runs in each of his last three starts since tossing a two-hitter versus Atlanta on April 5.
"I think it's still his command," manager Ron Roenicke told the Brewers' official website. "I don't know if he's trying to hit corners too much. His stuff still looks the same, it still looks good. He's just not locating as well."
Brandon Phillips, a lifetime .368 hitter with a home run against Gallardo, hit a two-run homer Tuesday for the Reds. The veteran second baseman is batting .358 this season, and 6 for 12 with five RBIs over the last three games.
Cincinnati, however, will try to avoid losing its fourth straight series and split a six-game trip.
"Their big boys hit home runs," manager Dusty Baker said. "Our big boy, Brandon, hit a home run. All the runs were scored on home runs. This park has turned into a hitters' park, so when you have a score of 3-2 it's really a pretty low-scoring game."
After being bumped from his originally scheduled start Sunday in favor of Edinson Volquez, Sam LeCure (0-1, 4.15) will take the mound for the Reds to make his first career start against the Brewers. The right-hander allowed four homers and five runs over 5 1/3 innings in a 5-4 loss to Arizona on April 19.
LeCure is 1-1 with a 5.79 ERA in four relief appearances versus Milwaukee.
