"Those guys beat us today," manager Mike Scioscia said. "We didn't execute some things on the mound and at the plate, but we're not that far off."
Texas last won eight in a row at home May 2-17, 2009.
Beltre matched New York's Mark Teixeira for the major league lead with his fourth game with at least three RBIs. The third baseman is 14 for 36 with 12 RBIs during a nine-game hitting streak.
The Rangers also got some much-needed production from the top two hitters in their lineup. Ian Kinsler ended an 0-for-18 slide with a pair of extra-base hits while No. 2 hitter Elvis Andrus had three hits after entering in a 4-for-39 slump.
"It was definitely a good night," Kinsler said.
Rangers catcher Mike Napoli, who spent the past 11 years in the Angels' organization, played his first game against the club that drafted him in 2000. He was 1 for 3 with a bloop double on a checked swing.
The Angels have dropped 14 of 20 in Arlington.
"They know us, we know them," Los Angeles outfielder Torii Hunter said. "We've got to keep pounding. We know it's going to be a grind."
Tuesday's pitching matchup pales in comparison to Wednesday's series finale, when Jered Weaver will try to improve on his 4-0 mark as he opposes 3-0 Matt Harrison. Both have ERAs of 1.30 or lower.
The ERAs are considerably worse Tuesday when Colby Lewis (1-1, 5.25 ERA) takes the mound for Texas opposite Matt Palmer (0-0, 7.71) in a matchup of starters who last pitched April 9.
Lewis makes his first start since allowing five runs over six innings in a 5-0 loss at Baltimore. He became the first player to go on MLB paternity leave, which is a maximum of three days, and was reinstated Monday.
"I felt like I was gone for a month," the right-hander said. "I'll be ready to go."
Lewis went 0-1 with a 3.00 ERA in two starts versus the Angels last season, and is 3-2 with a 4.35 ERA in seven career outings against them.
Palmer has not pitched since yielding five runs over 4 2/3 innings of a 6-5, 14-inning win over Toronto. He entered the rotation when Scott Kazmir landed on the disabled list.
The right-hander won his lone career start against Texas with five innings of one-hit ball in a 5-0 victory Sept. 30, 2009. Beltre is 3 for 8 with a homer against Palmer.
The Rangers look to improve to 8-0 at home when they continue their three-game set with the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday night.
AngelsTexas (11-5) reached its first World Series in 2010, when its longest home winning streak was seven. The Rangers have matched that run by setting a club record for the best home start in a season with a 7-1 series-opening victory Monday.
