Myers has been especially valuable at home, where he improved to 9-0 with a 1.96 ERA in 15 starts with Houston after throwing seven innings of one-run ball in Tuesday's 11-2 victory over the Chicago Cubs.
Myers, 2-0 with a 2.35 ERA in five starts against San Diego (6-8), is 10-1 with a 2.26 ERA in 20 total games -- 18 starts -- in his career at Minute Maid Park.
Houston (5-10), which dropped two of three to both Florida and the Cubs to open its season high-tying 10-game homestand, has taken two of the first three in this series including a 5-3 victory Saturday.
Chris Johnson hit a two-run homer, pinch-hitter Joe Inglett delivered a go-ahead RBI single in the seventh and Nelson Figueroa rebounded from two poor outings with a solid 6 2-3-inning performance.
"Hopefully I can remember all the good things that happened," Astros manager Brad Mills said. "It was a good night."
The Padres, losers of eight of 11 in Houston, will try to get some offense going against Myers after hitting .200 with 21 strikeouts in the first three games of this series.
Clayton Richard (1-0, 2.45) will try to build on his strongest performance of the young season when he gets the ball Sunday for San Diego.
The left-hander allowed two runs and five hits in a season-high 7 2/3 innings Tuesday, though he failed to earn a decision in the Padres' 11-inning, 8-2 loss to Cincinnati.
"I felt good ... my fastball and cutter, I was able to go in and out on guys, keeping them off balance," Richard, who has never faced Houston, told the Padres' official website.
Astros right fielder Hunter Pence has RBI doubles in each of the last two contests and is batting .343 (12 for 35) in 10 career home games versus San Diego.
Padres first baseman Brad Hawpe, like Pence a Fort Worth native, had an RBI single Saturday and is hitting .346 (27 for 78) in 22 career games in Houston.
Hawpe is 2 for 23 lifetime against Myers.
