His second hit Tuesday, a triple in the seventh inning off reliever Marco Estrada, scored Josh Thole and Jason Pridie in the Mets' 2-1 win. Reyes is hitting .458 (22 for 48) with 13 runs scored in an 11-game hitting streak, and he leads the big leagues with 11 triples.
"I've never had a player like that where he is so exciting to watch," Mets first-year manager Terry Collins said. "I'll tell you what, when he hits a ball in the gap or down the line, he is right out of the batters box -- and he wants it, badly."
Reyes is 11 for 39 with two homers and three RBIs against the Brewers' Randy Wolf (4-4, 3.69 ERA), who will try to extend a long unbeaten streak against the Mets.
The left-hander is 6-0 with a 3.27 ERA in 11 starts since New York's 3-2 win over Philadelphia on May 4, 2005. Wolf also has given up just two runs in each of his last four starts against New York.
Wolf didn't get a decision Friday against Florida after giving up four runs and five hits, including two homers, through five innings. Milwaukee won 6-5 on slugger Ryan Braun's first career pinch-hit homer in the top of the ninth.
Prince Fielder hit his fourth homer in five games and 15th of the year Tuesday as the Brewers had their four-game winning streak snapped, and lost for only the fourth time in 17 games.
Pitching at Miller Park could help the Mets' Mike Pelfrey (3-4, 3.95) forget his recent starts -- and how poorly he's fared on the road this year.
The right-hander's only win against the Brewers (34-27) came on July 1, 2009, in Milwaukee, where he scattered six hits, walked two and struck out six in 7 2/3 innings as the Mets won 1-0.
Pelfrey is 1-4 with an 8.58 ERA on the road, and 0-1 with a 5.26 ERA in his last four starts.
Facing Pittsburgh on Thursday, Pelfrey allowed a season high-tying seven runs in the first three innings and 10 hits total before being lifted after five. The Mets (29-31) went on to post a 9-8 win and complete their biggest rally in nearly 11 years.
New York is looking for its first four-game winning streak since a season-high six-game run from April 21-27.
